Explore Emotions through Music

I wanted to share with you this month some opportunities to explore your emotions through music and imagery. No artistic or musical experience is necessary for any of these activities.

Music & Emotion Through Imagery Exercise

This quick music and art exercise will help you learn a bit more about how music can interact with our brain to change our mood. It may help you explore your emotional connection to music or how you can use music as a tool throughout your day.

What you’ll need:

1. A music listening device with a playlist of 4 songs that are each a very different style of music

Or you can listen to the playlist I created for the exercise on Spotify.

2. A blank sheet of paper

3. Coloring tools like markers, paints, or, my favorite, oil pastels

Then watch the video here or click below.

Let me know how it goes, or email any questions. Enjoy! And subscribe to my YouTube channel for more.

Art & Music Virtual Full Moon Retreat

Later this month, you’ll have another opportunity to go deeper into your emotions with music and imagery. I will be hosting a Full Moon Retreat on February 27 through Expressive Wellness, my other business that I run with art therapist, Bodhi Simpson.

This virtual self-care retreat will use combined art and music therapy tools to clear away what no longer serves us, explore possibilities, and build upon inner dreams. We will be supported by the energy of the full moon illuminating the deepest parts of us that we are often unable to see clearly.
